The University of Calabar has reiterated its ban on wild post-examination celebrations, reckless driving, and all forms of disorderly conduct within and around the campus.
In a statement signed by the Registrar, Dr. Mrs. Chukwuka Icha, the university management expressed concern over unlawful celebrations by some students, particularly final-year students, after their last papers.
According to the statement, the practice of "flying of colours" and other unruly acts under the guise of marking the end of studies remains prohibited.
"All members of the university community, especially final-year students, are strongly advised to desist from such acts," the Registrar warned.
She added that the ban also covers activities around school gates and all cult-related activities, and remains in full force.
Management further stated that appropriate sanctions will be applied to any student or group found culpable.
To ensure compliance, the Acting Chief Security Officer has been directed to strictly enforce the directive across the campus and its environs.
The university community has been urged to take note and comply accordingly.
