About

The Nigerian Union of Campus Journalists – University of Calabar Council (NUCJ-UCC) is a vibrant body of student journalists committed to promoting ethical journalism, press freedom, professionalism, and impactful storytelling within and beyond the university community.

NUCJ-UCC serves as a platform for nurturing young media professionals through training, mentorship, leadership development, and active engagement in campus journalism. The union brings together passionate writers, broadcasters, photographers, editors, content creators, and media enthusiasts who are dedicated to informing, educating, and giving voice to the student community.

As a recognized body of campus journalists, NUCJ-UCC upholds the principles of truth, accuracy, fairness, accountability, and responsible journalism. Through news reporting, media coverage, public engagements, debates, workshops, and advocacy, the union contributes meaningfully to campus development and societal growth.

The union also creates opportunities for members to develop practical media skills, build professional networks, and prepare for careers in journalism, public relations, broadcasting, digital media, and communication-related fields.

At NUCJ-UCC, journalism is more than reporting news — it is a commitment to truth, service, leadership, and positive change.
